The Steps of Your Session

This page describes how your session is conducted, from start to finish.

Scheduling an Appointment

For outdoor shoots, we like to shoot in the morning or in the evening, when the light is best.  However, this doesn’t always work in to a busy schedule, so we are happy to schedule shoots during the middle of the day.  Our typical session with a family lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.

Studio shoots typically last about 60 minutes, and can be scheduled at any time of the day.

We will follow up with you a few days before your appointment to confirm the time, and answer any questions you may have.

The Photo Shoot

We will meet you at the location, or at our studio, at your appointed time.  If you have any questions, or need a few extra minutes to get ready, that’s not a problem.  We leave enough time so that nobody has to feel rushed.

During your session, be prepared to have fun and relax!  We will do some posing when we see nice settings, but otherwise we love to capture families having fun, so go for it!  We usually have two photographers for our sessions to capture a wide variety of expressions, so you have a lot to choose from!

Reviewing Your Session

Your portraits are professionally processed and posted on our partner lab’s website after your session.  The typical time to view the pictures is about one week.  Elite Photography will email you the link to this site for reviewing the pictures.  We encourage you to email this link to family and friends, so that they can purchase prints for themselves as well.

If you wish to have proofs printed in 4×5 or 4×6 format, or have a proof book created, those are available at a small charge.

Retouching and Creative Prints

If you find that you need some retouching, we are happy to accommodate you.  There is no charge for minor retouching, such as teeth whitening,  however there is an hourly charge for “major” retouching, where drastic changes are made.

We will typically put several creative versions of your pictures on the website for you to review.  Examples of these treatments would be montages, fun borders, or “dreamy” black and white prints.  If you would like to see other pictures with these treatments, or have a vision of your own, please let us know!  We love to work with families to create beautiful works of art.

Purchasing Prints

The website that you are emailed to review the pictures is also the site that you will order from.  Our lab, which is one of the best in the world, will print, hand-inspect, and ship directly to your door.  If you have a special request, we are always more than happy to accommodate you — please call or email, and we will happily assist you.

After the Purchase

All of our work is 100% guaranteed.  If you are unhappy with the prints, please let us know, and we will work with our lab to get them fixed.  If they can not be fixed, we will happily refund your money.  Your satisfaction is our goal, so please let us know if you have any comments or concerns.
